Fighting the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC)
What is OSEC?
The internet has changed the way we access the world. Unfortunately, human traffickers and child abusers have seized the opportunity, using the web to exploit a greater number of children.
The Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC) is the internet-facilitated abuse of children. Despite being “virtual,” the damage caused by OSEC is still very real to and damaging to victims. Not only must many endure physical and sexual abuse, but victims live out their lives knowing vulnerable images and videos of their abuse may live on for many years as they are passed around by perpetrators on the internet.
Online Sexual Exploitation is on the rise.
In 2021, reports of OSEC increased by 35% for a total of 29.3 million reports.

Our response to OSEC
Destiny Rescue has heard the cries of the hidden victims traumatized by these devastating crimes and has established a dedicated OSEC team.
This team is supported by Scientia, a counter human trafficking and exploitation program. Scientia was designed to help children by driving collaboration between aligned public, private, and civil sector organizations. It increases the capabilities of these organizations to prevention online abuse and rescue children on a global scale.
In short, Scientia is a digital forensics tool with unmatched capabilities to identify and track online child exploitation.
OUR GOALS
The following values guide our activites in the fight against OSEC:
ENHANCE
Scientia has provided access to new technologies to support the development, investigation, and prosecution of offenders in OSEC in operations in the Philippines and Thailand. During Scientia’s inaugural year in 2023, thirty-two children were rescued as a result of using Scientia.
EMPOWER
Our dedicated anti-OSEC team has trained individuals from over a dozen non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and law enforcement organisations (LEOs). Our anti-OSEC training includes open-source intelligence, digital forensics, and peer-to-peer network, as well as using Scientia and investigating exploitation via mobile devices. In 2023 alone, we trained over 775 individuals to find and assist children in need who were exploited online and take down criminals.
COLLABORATE
We know that working together leads to more children being rescued. Our efforts have directly supported numerous law enforcement and NGO cases against traffickers, leading to the rescue of children and arrest of perpetrators and sex buyers.
