22 girls rescued in Uganda
22 survivors, ages 12 to 17, chose freedom and joined our community care programs in Uganda.
All of the children were enduring sexual exploitation in order to survive and meet their basic needs. Five of the survivors have children of their own as a result of their exploitation.
In our programs, the survivors will attend trauma rehabilitation classes and receive counseling. Working with their caseworkers they will customize their freedom plan and begin taking achievable steps towards their new future.

Traffickers will spend months building fake relationships with Nepali women and girls before luring them out of the country with false promises, only to sell them to brothels as soon as they cross the border.

Thanks to our agents’ collaboration with law enforcement, two traffickers were arrested. The adult survivors returned home to recover with their families, while most of the children were entrusted to government shelters where they will receive extensive post-trauma treatment from licensed caseworkers.

All of the girls faced desperate circumstances, from neglect at home to family illness, that made it difficult to even afford food. With nowhere else to turn, the girls were forced to sell their own bodies just so they could buy food. Three of the children lived in homes where a family member engaged in sex work, putting them at dire risk of abuse.
Our agents gave the children another option. In the Residential Home, the children will not only work through the trauma they endured, but also be equipped with vital vocational skills that will help them achieve financial independence, ensuring they never have to resort to exploitation again.
